Journey to the Centre of the Galaxy Part I

by David Pugh

3rd May 2018

At the May meeting the Secretary David Pugh gave the first part of an illustrated two part talk entitled “A Journey to the Centre of the Galaxy Part 1”. He took the audience on a 27,000 light year journey, based mainly on his own astronomical images. The meeting concluded with an outline of highlight objects to observe in the night sky for May. At the next meeting the Secretary David Pugh will give the final part of his talk “Journey to the Centre of the Galaxy” including latest observations about the central supermassive black hole. A brief summary of Part 1 will be included.

The next meeting, at 7.30pm on Thursday 7th June, will be “Journey to the Centre of the Galaxy Part II” by David Pugh. It will of course be a continuation of Part I given in May.

It will be held at the United Reform Church, Carnarvon Road, CO156PH. Visitors welcome £2. See meeting programme at www.clactonastronomy.co.uk or phone David Pugh 01255429849.
